Frequently asked
QUESTIONS
-
Do we need to let you know about performances of your music? In short, no you don't! Buying this music gives you the right to perform it. However, we are always pleased to hear (preferably in advance) of performances - so please do drop us a line using the Contact form. Don't forget to include our pieces on returns for whoever administers performance rights in your territory (if applicable).
-
Can we record your music on our next album? We are delighted that you are considering including one or more of our pieces for your next release. Please contact us before making your recording, including details about the nature of your ensemble, your proposed track listing and your distribution plans. There may be a fee payable for recording works published by Windmill Down Press, for which we will invoice you.
-
How can I be sure my card details are safe?We use Stripe (supplied by Wix Payments) to process your card payment. This is fully encrypted, and nobody else can access your card details.
-
What can I do if I need my order to arrive quickly?Due to our 'print on demand' model, we are limited in how fast we can process and despatch your order. Our usual terms are to allow 21 days for delivery. However, if in exceptional circumstances you need your order to arrive more quickly, please contact us and we will see what we can do. We reserve the right to pass on to you any extra charges incurred in expediting your order.
-
Can I order on account?Due to our 'print on demand' model, we usually prefer payment in advance of despatch. However, we recognise that in some cases (e.g. Armed Forces procurement) that is not possible. If you need to enquire about ordering on account, please contact us with your details. Invoices on account are payable within 21 days of the date on the invoice.
-
Will my commission be published by Windmill Down Press? If you commission David to compose or arrange a piece of music, we will normally reserve the right to publish it after a period known as 'exclusivity' (during which you control the rights to performance). This will be discussed at the commissioning stage, so there will be no surprises.
-
Can I submit my music to be published by you?Windmill Down Press is not currently accepting submissions from composers or arrangers.

What if my question hasn't been answered?Firstly, not all of our information is here - don't forget to check out the rest of our site! If you still can't find the answer to your question, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
